INFANT DIED LAST THURSDAY IN ST. PAUL
The many friends of Mr & Mrs Raymond Petersen were saddened Sunday when news of the death of little Gary Petersen in the Anchor hospital, St. Paul, was reported here.
Gary was born in Milltown October 10, 1935. About a year ago the Petersen's moved to St Paul where Mr. Petersen was employed. About five weeks ago Gary became ill and acting upon the doctor's advice, he was taken to the Anchor hospital. At first it was thought that he had contracted infantile paralysis. Later doctors thought he was afflicted with sleeping sickness and finally it was concluded that a tumor of the brain was the cause of his illness. He was examined by eight doctors before his case could be definitely diagnosed. Tuesday, March 22 an operation to relieve the pressure on the brain was performed. Saturday it became necessary to make an attempt to remove the tumor. The operation was performed, but Gary passed away Sunday, March 27.
Funeral services were held at the home of Mr and Mrs. Martin Hermansen, at 1:30 today and from the Milltown Lutheran church at 2:00 with Rev. N.P.J.Nielsen and Rev. Emil Nielsen in charge. Pallbearers were Rudolph Harder, Thomas Melby, Marvin Hansen and Edward Hermansen. Flower girls were Elvera Nelson, Dorothy Hermansen, Luella Hendrickson and Viola Nelson. Interment was made in the Milltown cemetery. Edling Bros. had charge of funeral arrangements.
This paper joins with relatives and friends of Mr and Mrs Petersen in extending our sympathy in their bereavement.
