Doyle Kendrick Brown of Markle, Indiana stepped into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. He was 88.

Brown was a lifelong Wells County farmer, working land that had been in his family for three generations. He also ran a dairy operation and raised hogs. He was a well known fast pitch softball pitcher in his early married life, and followed his favorite teams down through the years.

Doyle enjoyed following his children and grandchildren's sporting events by attending or watching for their names in the newspaper. He was active at the Markle Church of Christ serving as Financial Secretary for 40 years, playing trombone in the church orchestra, singing in the choir, singing bass in the BLOC Busters quartet and presenting special music with his wife Donna and their children.

During the past 15 years up to the time of his last hospitalization, Doyle and Donna enjoyed providing musical entertainment for community gatherings, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Born July 5, 1924, in Rockcreek Township, Wells County, Doyle Brown was the son of the late Wilfred and Hallie Faye (Derr) Brown. He graduated from East Rockcreek High School and was active in track and field, and music. He was united in marriage to Donna Irene Overholt of Markle on Jan. 12, 1947; she survives.
