JACKSON, O.C., August 5, 1924'May 4, 2007, 82, a wonderful husband and father, and native of Brady, Tex., passed away on May 4, 2007.' He was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for the outdoors. A veteran of WWII, he served his country with honor from 1943-1946. O.C. spent 16 months in the European theatre and was assigned to the 235th General Hospital. Returning from the military, O.C. pursued his education and in 1950, earned a BBA degree with honors from Southwest Texas University. After nine years of administrative service with Magnolia Petroleum Company, in 1959 O.C. entered the insurance business where he earned recognition as a top industry leader.' A professional life insurance agent, O.C. served his industry, his profession and his community with dignity and honor.' He was both a life member of the industry's most prestigious production award, The Million Dollar Round Table and the Texas Leaders Roundtable. A chartered life underwriter, O.C. was a past president of the Dallas Association and the Texas Association of Life Underwriters, National Committeeman, and Chairman of numerous national associations of life underwriters committees.' O.C. was honored by his peers when they chose him as their Life Underwriter of the Year and was also a charter member of the Dallas Association Hall of Fame.' He was chosen by the Texas Leaders Roundtable for their outstanding achievement award, an honor bestowed for his distinguished service to the organization and industry.' O.C. was a Southland Life Agent from 1960 until his retirement December 31, 1994.' He was a member of Southland Life's Hall of Fame, President's Club (Life member) App a Week (Life member) and Chairman's Council for the company.' His last award and tribute to his career was bestowed him 2006 with the Texas Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Lifetime Achievement Award. O.C. was also active in his community. He served in various roles within the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, LaVerne, son, Tony Jackson and wife Jill and their children Jennifer Anne Jackson and Janna Allison Jackson; daughter, Deidra Fettinger and husband George and their children George Marcus Fettinger and Tiffany Ann Fettinger, all of who were his pride and joy. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8 at 10 a.m. at Restland Memorial Chapel, in Dallas, Tex., with interment on Wednesday, May 9 at 3 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, in Brady, Tex.' The family will receive friends Monday, May 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Restland.
