Joyce Lewis, 80, of Binghamton passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Walt; a son, Charlie; and daughter-in-law, Karen. She is survived by a son, Walt Lewis Jr.; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael and Christopher; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Rhoades, Shirley and Robert Parke; several brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Ruth and Harry Lewis for all of their help over the past 2-1/2 years with Joyce. A very special thanks to Home Care Aide Jen who through her dedication, compassion and loving care made Joyce very comfortable the past several months and allowed Joyce to remain at home until the very near end of her life. Also wish to thank Bettie and Dawn for their aide care to Joyce.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment services will be held at the Chenango Valley Cemetery immediately following the service.
