Vera had two sisters, Lucille and Adena Shorthill. She was the middle daughter of Irene and Earl Shorthill. She married Warren H Buettner in 1944, and they had three children. After Warren's retirement from the Air Force they lived in Reno, NV, Hot Springs, AR, Albuquerque, NM, and Sacramento. She was a Registered Nurse, and a loving mother.
