Paul M. Ferrara, age 82, died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Bogue Chitto, MS from Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved husband of the late Marie Seago Ferrara. Father of Gwendolyn Sansone, Patricia Strawn, Cheryl Colomes, Paul Ferrara, Jr. Son of the late Margareta Digraci and Michael Ferrara. Brother of Rosemary Gouzy, Melchior Ferrara, and Robert Ferrara. Also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers include Paul Ferrara, Jr., John Sansone, Jr., GlennColomes, John Sansone III; Lee Strawn, and Joseph Wigginton. Mr. Ferrara was cared for by his children and Mrs. Renee Johnson and Staff. The family owes much gratitude to Renee for the superb environment and quality of care that he received for the past 1 ½ years. He was a former two-term president of VFW Hinton Causey Post No. 7194 and retired from BP in 1991. Mr. Ferrara resided in Meraux, LA until the evacuation of Katrina relocated him to Osyka, MS.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home; 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA. on Thursday 09/17, 2009 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM followed by Mass in the Chapel. Interment in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
