Mr. Bernard Junior "B.J." Arrington, 78, of LaGrange, GA, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Arrington was born March 26, 1936, in Heard County, GA, son of the late Charlie L. Arrington and Bessie Dowdy Arrington. He was a faithful member of Baptist Tabernacle Church and was employed with Bell South Phone Company as a lineman, before retirement. Mr. Arrington was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lurlie Whitley Arrington.
Survivors include his son, Anthony Bernard (Brenda) Arrington; daughter, Angela Arrington Payne; son, Alan (Sondra) Arrington; grandchildren, Brandon Arrington, Brittney Nicole Clement, Jared Payne, Whitley Arrington, Rachel Arrington, Charlie Arrington, Haleigh Bates, and Will Bates; great grandson, Jackson Robert Clement; nephews, Charles Arrington, Freddie Arrington, Ronnie Arrington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Baptist Tabernacle Church with Reverend Jimmy McMillian officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be Monday, May 26, 2014, for 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Church in memory of Mr. Bernard Junior "B.J." Arrington.
