AGOSTINI - Guido H., 82, of St. James (formerly of Kings Park) on May 1, 2013. Husband of the late Mabel and the late Dolores. Beloved father of John (Dawn), Janice (Robert) Parisi, Richard (Nancy), and Linda (Mark) Scanlon. Also survived by nine grandchildren.
He was a Smithtown Republican Committeeman for 30 years and a past President of the Kings Park Republican Club. He was an ordained Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown and was active in many of the church youth programs. He also managed and played for the church softball team for many years. He loved to ski & travel, having seen most of the USA and the world. Retired History Teacher from the Bethpage High School after 31 years. He held several posts with the Bethpage Congress of Teachers and as president in 1968 he led a teachers strike in one of the first challenges to the Taylor Law.
Friends may call at the Hawkins and Davis Funeral Home, 17 Manor Rd., Smithtown today, Friday, frm 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral service Saturday 11 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown. Interment Smithtown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown would be appreciated.
