Aline was working at the Jackson Deed Recorders Office when she met Meyer Grojean of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They married on April 28, 1946 following Meyer's service in the Army during World War II. During the war, Aline was a timekeeper at the McDonnell Aircraft Company in St. Louis.
Son Tim was born in 1948 and the new family moved into a "rent controlled" upstairs flat in St. Louis, much to the envy of Dad's wartime buddies, who were happy to find boarding rooms in the crowded St. Louis market. Aline was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Maplewood, Missouri until the family moved to Overland Park in 1962.
Aline and Tim joined Bethany Lutheran Church in 1962, just one year after its charter. She was active in church activities, committees, and circles - including the Priscilla Circle.
Aline and Meyer retired to Florida in 1988 to enjoy the warmth and the sunshine. They built a new home on a lake in 1999, which Aline enjoyed very much, and was reluctant to leave, even as her illness progressed.
Family called her "Cookie" in her youth, a nickname that appropriately reflected her lifelong love of baking. The workplaces of her husband, son, and daughter-in-law were frequent recipients of her special cookies for many years.
Aline Grojean is survived by her husband Meyer, son Tim, daughter-in- law Renee, Aunt Georgia Meyer of Cape Girardeau, age 100, and cousins.
