Mrs. Rizpah Brockman
daughter of Capt. Rufus l. Lucore, a well known and honored citizen of our country residing up to the time of his death a few miles north of Marion. Mrs. Brockman was born in Shippen, McKean County, Penn., Dec 6, 1836. In 1837 her parents moved to Rock Island, Ill., traveling at that time by wagon to the Alleghany River, then by the boat down the Ohio to its mouth, thence up the Mississippi to Rock Island. the trip taking one month in 1839. She came with her parents to Linn County, and has been a resident of the county to the time of her death, May 13, 1893, with the exception of four years in Oregon and Nebraska. She was married to C.L. Brockman March 9, 1854.
member of old settlers association, class od 1839. Rizpah died in May of 1893 and is buried in Marion, Iowa at the Oakshade Cemetery.
