Henry Boehr, 84
February 24, 1885 ~ January 1, 1980
Henry Boehr loved to sing, and I loved to hear his deep voice, singing harmony at the Beatrice Mennonite Church in the 1950's.
Henry and Elizabeth were welcoming people, and set a gracious table for relatives and friends.
His beloved wife, Elizabeth, died in 1967, coming home from church on a Sunday morning, hit by a drunk driver. Many of the cars in those days had no seat belts, and she died that day.
Later, Henry moved to a nursing facility in Newton, Kansas. He had canes, and couldn't move easily, but he loved the Lord, in all his circumstances, and led Bible studies in the nursing home.
