Linda was born January 7, 1940, to Everett “Doc” and Jennie (Brondyke) Housenga, in Fulton, IL. She was the youngest of six, and was educated in the Fulton schools. On September 29, 1956, she married Lester L. “Butch” Kimmel. They had two children, Jeffrey and Patricia. Butch and Linda separated on December 12, 1977. On January 10, 1986, Linda and Darrell Alm were united in marriage in Camanche, IA. After several company moves with International Paper and Darrell’s retirement in 1994, they moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ. Linda loved the Lake Havasu City area and was an avid golfer, having scored three holes-in-one during her time playing golf. She was also a very gifted artist, as evidenced by several painting she had on display, both publicly and privately.
Linda is survived by her husband Darrell; her son Jeffrey (Jan) Kimmel of Marengo, IL; her daughter Patricia (Rick) Fredricks of Morrison, IL; two step daughters, Jeri Kay Moe and Teresa Green, both of Texas; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Michael’s United Methodist Church, 2895 Tamacia Blvd., in Lake Havasu City, AZ
Local Memorial visitation will be held at 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison, IL
Memorial Service will beheld at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison, IL, with Mr. Ken Renkes, Director of Congregational Care at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating.
