Martha Carlson was born April 6, 1847 in Sweden, she married her husband Sven in 1873.
The family traveled to America on a Steamboat, and arrived in the summer of 1882, they resided in Verdi, Minnesota area until around 1900 when they moved to Washington State were they became some of the first residents or pioneers of Stanwood area in 1901.
Martha lost her friend, love and soul-mate on Jan 5th of 1923, her health started rapidly deteriorating after Sven's passing and she passed on Sunday, April 22, 1923.
She leaves behind one son Charles J Carlson (Mabel Carlson), three daughters, Mrs. Anna Nielson (Niels Nielson), Mrs. Mathilda L Peterson (Carl Peterson), Mrs. Nannie C Henning (Peter Henning) and 11 grandchildren.
Martha is and will be dearly missed and loved by her family, friends and all that knew her.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon April 25th at the Lutheran Free Church with Rev. R.J. Berge officiating, interment followed in the Anderson Cemetery.
