Charles Lewis Amick was the son of George Amick and Tobitha Higginbotham who were married 3 Oct 1907 at Fayette Station, Fayette, West Virginia.
He was the step-son of the Reverend William Mac Bowling who married his mother on 17 Oct 1918.

Charles was a coal miner. He married Reatha Ann Bragg at Summers Co, WV, on 7 Aug 1928.
