|Death: ||May 18, 1935|
Alvida had siblings Albert and Oscar Lamar who lived to adulthood and are buried elsewhere, somewhere.
(Oscar Lamar Redifer married Marie Hay in 1896 in Philadelphia, where they lived before moving to Atlantic City, NJ. They apparently had no children. Brother Albert married Maggie McBride in Summerfield United Methodist Church near the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia and had four children as noted, below.)
In addition to her parents buried here, John Jackson Redifer and Rebecca Engard Weysser Redifer's daughter Alvida Redifer Fisher is joined by a stillborn nephew Raymond, son of her brother Albert, and by members of her Fisher family.
According to a Reed-Engard family genealogy, Alvida had a child by her first husband, but that husband and child were not named and do not appear to be buried here. Her second husband was Charles Fisher, who is buried here.
None of the Fishers here have tombstones. This section B, lot 147, shows burials in this order:
Rebecca E. Redifer was the first burial in the group, so is located near the line of her group plot, adjacent to the tombstone for Ann Sherrer, who was the first burial on the other side of the line, in the adjacent Andrew Redifer group. Rebecca died of small pox and was buried at age 41 on 30 Nov. 1880, the only one in this group with a tombstone, according to the cemetery records;
John Jackson Redifer, died at age 53 of consumption, buried 11 Oct. 1891;
His granddaughter Rebecca Fisher, died at age 6 of diptheria, buried 21 Nov. 1893;
Another grandson, Raymond Redifer -- one Philadelphia death report calls him "stillborn" who died March 26 and buried 29 March 1894, while another says he was born March 23. Both report him as son of Alvida's brother, Albert, and his wife Maggie C. Redifer.
(In 1907, infant Raymond had a sibling brother who died at three months of age, buried in Philadelphia's Cedar Hill Cemetery. Albert and his wife Maggie had two surviving children, Ada, born 14 July 1891, and Kenneth, born in 1910. Those two children were living with their widowed mother in Cheltenham, Montgomery County, PA, where the family had moved from Philadelphia in the previous five years. Burial locations for Albert Redifer Sr., Maggie McBride Redifer, and Kenneth and Ada Redifer are not yet documented.)
"Alien" or maybe "Alun" Fisher, age 2 and 4/12 months, died of pneumonia, buried 21 March 1900;
Charles P. Fisher, died at age 66 of nephritis, buried 12 May 1934;
and Alvida Fisher, died at age 70 of myocarditis, buried 18 May 1935.
The cemetery record said John J. Redifer was issued the cemetery plot deed # 2204 on 23 Feb. 1881 -- although that would also be a date after the burial of his wife Rebecca in that plot.
