From the WW1 Draft Registration Card, September 12, 1918: Lloyd Andrew Brown, 18, of R.D. New Oxford, Adams County, Pennsylvania, was born October 15, 1899. He was employed as a Farmer for Edward A. Brown, of the same address, who was also his nearest relative. He was medium in height and build, with light eyes and light hair.
Obituary for Lloyd A. Brown from the Gettysburg Times of Tuesday, December 22, 1981:
"Lloyd A. Brown, 82, of the Brethren Home in Cross Keys, died Saturday at the Brethren Home. He was formerly of Hanover Route 3 and Spring Grove Route 1. Born near New Chester, was the son of the late Edward and Lillie Laughman Brown. He was married to Vallie Fair Brown, who died in 1961. Mr. Brown worked for the Hanover Scrap Company before retiring in 1965. He is survived by two sons, Cletus Brown, Centennial Avenue, Hanover; Clair Brown, Spring Grove Route 1; a daughter, Pauline Meckley, Centennial Avenue, Hanover; and four grandchildren. Survivors also include two brothers, Norman Brown, Gettysburg Route 5 and Glenn Brown of New Oxford. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover. The Rev. Archie McVey of Faith Chapel will officiate. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening."
