Richard Samuel Bevenour was born September 18, 1919, in New Oxford, Adams County, Pennsylvania, the son of Linus Joseph and Genevieve Rebecca Yingling Bevenour. On September 27, 1940, in New Oxford, he married Betty Jane Valentine, daughter of Charles Franklin and Bertha Adella Hyser Valentine. They were the parents of two children: Paul E. and Lorraine C. Bevenour. Richard passed away on January 8, 1996, in Spring Grove, York County, Pennsylvania, and was buried in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Oxford, Adams County, Pennsylvania.

"Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bevenour, Spring Grove R. 2, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at Colonial Valley. They were honored with a dinner given by their son, Paul Bevenour and his wife, Pat, and their daughter, Lorraine Dennis and her husband, Dalvin. Twenty-four guests attended the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Bevenour were married bythe Rev. Robert D. Hartnet, Sept. 27, 1940, in the Immaculate Conception Church, New Oxford. They have three grandchildren. Bevenour is ason of Genevieve Bevenour and the late Linus Bevenour, of New Oxford. He is employed by SKF of Hanover. Mrs. Bevenour is the former Betty Valentine and is a daughter of the late Bertha and Charles Valentine. She is employed by Super Shoes."
