Catherine C. Baranowski, 97, of 534 1/2 W. Penn St., died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday at Sunnyview Home.
Born in West Natrona, March 4, 1909, she was the daughter of Francis and Frances Witucki Glogowski.
She was a homemaker and formerly was a nurse's aide at Allegheny Valley Hospital. During World War II, she worked at Allegheny Ludlum Steel.
Mrs. Baranowski was a former Democratic judge of election in West Natrona. She also was a former Red Cross volunteer in Tarentum and her first uniform and pin are on display at Penn State.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Baranowski of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Levandowski of Natrona Heights; a sister, Mrs. Valeria Lorenzetti of New Kensington; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Baranowski; a daughter; a sister; and two brothers.
BARANOWSKI - A blessing service for Catherine C. Baranowski, who died Thursday, June 8, 2006, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the martin FUNERAL home, 429 Center Ave., with the Rev. James Dolan, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Visitation will follow until noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
