Evelyn Barnstable passed away peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2010, one day short of her 85th birthday.
She was born in Regina to Howard and Gertrude Agnew and spent most of her early years in Weyburn. She took Normal School training in Regina and taught for two years at Long School – a country school near Macoun. On April 6, 1946, she married Robert Barnstable of Macoun. They farmed and raised their family there. She moved into Mainprize Manor in Midale in November 2006 when her health began to fail.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents; her sister Elsie Davies; two brothers, David Agnew and Lloyd Agnew and twin infant grandchildren, Berkley and Monty.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert and her three sons, Don (Donnie) of Macoun, Doug (Phyllis) of Estevan and Barry (Heather) of Estevan; seven grandchildren, Darren, Tim (Jenn), Burke (Jamie), Cody, Stacy (Devin) Aspinall, Stephanie and Branden; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Grace, Kailey, Parker and Sadie. She also leaves to mourn, her sister-in-law Eleanor Agnew and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan. A memorial service will be held at the Macoun Evangelical Missionary Church, Macoun, SK on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charlie Bowen officiating. Interment will take place prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Macoun Cemetery.
