Private services were held for L. Ward Collins, 65, of Selbyville, who died Saturday at his home after a long illness. Interment was scheduled in Roxana Cemetery.
A native of Bishopville, Md., he was a carpenter and had lived in the Selbyville area for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Collins; six daughters, Mrs. Betty Carey and Mrs. Fay Murray, both of Berlin, Md., Mrs. Ethel Breasure; and Mrs. Achscah Breasure, both of Selbyville, Mrs. Ada Hazel of Frankford and Mrs. Beatrice M. Rowe of Dagsboro; eight sons, Lemuel Ward Jr., Ira L., Frank, Elbert and Lloyd, all of Selbyville, Randolph of Pittsville, Md., and Billy of Bishopville; 27 grandchildren; one great grandchild; his step mother, Mrs. May Collins of Selbyville; and four sisters, Mrs. Helen Lynch of Frankford, Mrs. Achscah Niblet and Mrs. Frances Daye, both of Bishopville and Mrs. Anna Collins of Miami, Fla.
