Born Siegmund Wilhelm Kohlhagen. Immigrated to the United States where he changed his name to Sedney Colhagen. Served with the 6th Cavalry on the Mexican border served in WWI with the 304th MTC in France where he was wounded in a gas attack. Married Malinda L. Young and had five daughters ( Evelyn, Joyce, Sheila, Violet, Lula).
