EAST PRAIRIE — Service for Roger C. Allen will be held at Shelby Funeral Home Chapel here Wednesday at 2 p.m. with a pastor of the East Prairie Assembly of God Church officiating. Interment will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Roger Allen, 70 years old, a resident of East Prairie, died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born August 14, 1917, at Rosine, Ky., son of Willis Allen and Artie Hayslip Allen. He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Allen Wholesale Furniture Co., at East Prairie and had been involved in other businesses.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church at East Prairie.

On March 21, 1941, he married Mildred Irene Buttrey, she survives.

Other survivors include son, Charles Allen, of Bertrand; daughter, Sandra Lindley of East Prairie; sister, Madge Russell of East Prairie; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.
