Donna L. Debacker, age 73, of Norfolk, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at Faith Regional Health Services following a lengthy illness.
Visitation was held from 3-8 pm on Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at the Home for Funerals with a wake service conducted at 7 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk. Rev. Timothy J. Lange officiated the service. Music was provided by the Bound for Glory choir accompanied by Karl Henkel, organist.
Pallbearers were Don Odgen, Warren Wondercheck, Mark Elsbury and Johnny Elsbury. Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Buchholtz, Kim Carlson, Chris Geilenkirchen, Ron Snodgrass, Tommy Zegers and Keaton Buchholtz.
Interment was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk.

Donna was born Aug. 17, 1932, in O'Neill, to Ralph and Lillian (Dalton) Davis. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1948. On Jan. 3, 1953, Donna married Daniel DeBacker at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in O'Neill.
She was employed at J.C. Penny's in O'Neill. Later, she worked at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. Her family moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa, before returning to Neligh where she and her husband opened and operated the DeBacker Family Store from 1975 until 1985, when they moved to Norfolk. Donna was employed at the former Lutheran Community Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.
Donna is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael DeBacker of Kansas City, MO, Mary and Kim Carlson of Albion, Beth and Chris Geilenkirchen of Norfolk, Thomas DeBacker of Los Angeles, CA, and Bernadette and Tom Buchholtz of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Darla Elsbury of Atkinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel on Sept, 13, 2005.
