Arthelia V. Clyde, 91, a resident of Potlatch, Idaho died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at her Potlatch home from cancer. Cremation will take place and her ashes will be buried at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch, Idaho. There will be no public services but a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born on Sept. 9, 1914 in Palouse, Wash., to Charles and Blanche (Powell) Enyeart. She attended the Palouse schools and graduated from the Palouse High School in 1932.
She married Lyle Gottschalk on Jan. 7, 1939 and the couple were later divorced. She married Virgil Clyde on July 29, 1970 at Potlatch, Idaho and the couple made their home at Potlatch.
Mrs. Clyde worked at the Quality Cleaners in Palouse from 1962-76 when she retired. Mr. Clyde was a self-employed logger and worked at Pacific Crown in Plummer, Idaho. She enjoyed Nascar racing, making afghans and latch hook rugs. She had a good memory and never missed a date for birthdays of grandchildren. She also was a good storyteller. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, two sons, two brothers, one sister, as well as grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Parsons and two brothers, Harold and Danny Enyeart.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Hospice of the Palouse, Moscow, ID or the Scenic 6 Park at Potlatch. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash. handled the arrangements.ŚMoscow-Pullman Daily News, Thursday, June 22, 2006
