Mildred L. Connell (Kehl) passed on April 24, 2013 in Edmonds, WA. She was born July 9, 1923, in Toppenish, WA. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Connell; parents, Christ and Lydia Kehl; brother, Allen Kehl; sister, Maxine Hurst; and grandson, Bob Besel. Better known to all as Mickey, she lived a full life as the loving matriarch of her family as well as an honorable and sincere friend to those who knew her. She enjoyed completing puzzles with her great-grandchildren, lunches with the ladies, and sharing stories with everyone. Her experiences range from a WWII Navy Wave veteran, active involvement in several community organizations, and supporting her friends, family, and all she came into contact with. Mickey will be laid to rest at Evergreen-Washelli (Aurora Avenue) in Seattle, WA. A celebration of her life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Markland Woods, 23337 Cedar Way, Mountlake Terrace, WA. Mickey is survived by her sister, Fran Sweesy, Yakima, WA; five children, Sherrie Connell, Yakima, WA, Barbara (Dennis) Riley, Anchorage, AK, Mary (Rick) Baker, Union Gap, WA, Kevin (Linda) Connell, Hillsboro, OR and Patty Connell, Seattle, WA; as well as six grandchildren; and soon-to-be 15 great-grandchildren.
