Max Darrow Armstrong, 75, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Midland Hospice House.

Max was born June 13, 1940, in Phoenix, AZ the son of Lou Y. and Dolores C. (Winkelbauer) Armstrong. The family moved to Horton, KS in 1942, where he was raised. He graduated from Horton High School in 1958 and attended Kansas State University. He lived in Topeka most of his life where he was employed by the State of Kansas as an Engineering Technician and later as a computer programmer/analyst until his retirement in 2006. In his younger years Max was an avid hunter and loved to fish. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveled extensively over the western part of the United States. He was an active member of Northland Christian Church.
Max was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marcia Armstrong. Survivors include his brother, Lamonte "Corky" (Janice) Armstrong of Topeka: sister, Marilyn (John) Shoal of Columbia Falls MT; and sister, Kay (Steve) Schmidt of Baton Rouge, LA. He also is survived by one niece and six nephews.

Max donated his body to the Kansas University Medical Center. At his request there will be no funeral service.
