Jimmie Inez Bonner
OMEN -- Funeral services for Jimmie Inez Bonner, 87, Omen, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, in the First United Methodist Church, Arp, with the Rev. Kay Alewine and Rev. Rick Tate officiating. Burial will be in the Elkins Cemetery under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Bonner died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at her residence. She was born April 29, 1918, in Corine to the late Charlie and Jessie Horton Mixon.
Jimmie has a gentle and humble spirit and was beloved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rev. Billie B. Bonner.
She had a deep abiding faith in God and served with her husband at the United Methodist pastorates in Homer, Timpson Circuit, Winfield Circuit, Karnack, China, Alta Loma, St. John's, Jacksonville, Fairfield, Malakoff, Frankston and Grapeland.
She was Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 377, Jacksonville, from 1978 to 1979, and she was Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 421, Troup from 1991 to 1992.
She is survived by a son; a daughter and son-in-law; two sisters; one brother; three grandchildren and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jack Lacy, Kenneth Alewine, Ernie Maddox, Jim Williamson, John Finley and Bill Griffin.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
