Parents, Marcus and Bernice Griggs, met in Orondo, Washington were orchardists
Lorraine's dad got a job in Seattle, WA Lorraine was born in Seattle, WA.
All three returned to Orondo, Washington when Lorraine was very young

Lorraine attended Orondo Elementary and then went to East Wenatchee to attend school
Lorraine was Orondo Princess for the Apple Blossom Parade

Married Loren Knemeyer, from Waterville, WA had 8 Children

Went to Wenatchee College to become a teacher
Moved her family to Bellingham, WA in 1968 to attend Western Washington University

Taught School at the Lummi Indian Reservation and then later at the Elementary/Middle school in Ferndale, WA
Retired and moved to East Wenatchee, WA to be closer to her sisters/brothers

Returned to Bellingham to visit and help her daughter's with their families

Met her best friend Paul Killian in Bellingham WA and traveled back and forth between their homes, attending various senior centers, where Paul played numerous instruments in the band. Paul and Lorraine become engaged in July of 2010.
She was there to the end, living life and enjoy and taking care of her family. On the 4th she was attending her granddaughter, Brittany's wedding in Oak Harbor, WA, then making sure her fiance was getting his hearing aids, and on the day of her passing, she had taken Stephanie out to her daughter Cindy's to babysit her kids. She was always busy, always helping others, alway being a mother, always caring and giving of herself.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Marcus and Bernice Griggs, daughter, Elise Ann, grandson, Shane Alan Chapman, sister-in-law, Pat Griggs, and a special niece/cousin we all loved, Marcella Ray who passed at at 4 from Mingitis in the 60's.
Survived by 5 sibling, Jeannine (Marvin) Ray, Alvin (Jeanette) Griggs, Flora (Richard) Lancaster, Marcus (Pat-Deceased) Griggs, Harold (Gary Neyens) Griggs

Lorraine Is Also survived by her Fiance Paul Killion her Children and their Families Ronald Knemeyer, Michael (Rosie) Knemeyer, Marcus Knemeyer, Cynthia Claus, Jeannine Chapman, Cheri (Tony) Warner & Erin (Brian) Walston.
(Elise Ann died at age 2 from a brain tumor, sad and long event for all concerned at the time)
Have 28 grandchildren, 16 great grandchild and l due 8/11.
