Sarah was the daughter of Uriah and Elizabeth (Whitsett) Gaddy. She married Sarah E. Gaddy on October 24, 1897 in Nodaway County, Missouri. He was the son of John Cromwell and Caroline (Sease) Acklin.
To this union seven children were born Lester, Irvin, Dale, Glenn, Lola, Eula and Darwin.
