Bremerton Sun, 24 Aug 1979, p. 5: "Irene Johnson. Longtime Bremerton resident Irene Marian Johnson, 79, of 2417 Cascade Trail, died yesterday at Harrison Memorial Hospital. Born in Antigo, Wis., on Sept. 7, 1899, she married Conrad Johnson in Harrison, Idaho on Oct. 5, 1920. Since 1929 the couple have resided in Bremerton, where he is the former owner of Johnson Lumber. She was a past president of Lady Lions Club and an active member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter CG and Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Conrad; a brother, Russell Goodwin of Edmonds; three sisters, Betty Spencer of Tacoma, Ruther Olsen of Spokane, and Blanche Scott of Sun City, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Private family services will be at Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation and inurnment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
