He was the son of John "Jacky" Morris and Ameila Morris, He died 3 days after the 1850 Montgomery co. census was taken, he was married to Martha Ferrell, and had 1 daughter Elizabet Jane "Eliza" B. in 1850 she married Raymond Clodfelter, John'stone is now gone, it was recorded in 1964 by kirk Shaver of Stanly Co. NC He is listed as a gold miner on the 1850 census
