Albert Freeman Bennett was born October of 1866 in Indiana. He was the son of John P. Bennett and Margaret Elisabeth Spoon Bennett. After the birth of his sister, Sarah in 1868, his parents and extended family of Bennetts, made the move to Crawford County, Kansas and that is where they were living in 1870. Albert was the oldest of five children. By 1880, the family had moved to Moundville, Vernon County, Missouri.
His father, John P. Bennett, moved the family to Clark County, Washington prior to 1885 to work in the logging industry. Albert F. Bennett married Sara Jane Temple about 1886. They had five children: Elmer Nelson (1887-1959); Nellie E. (1889-1925); Charles Wilson (1892-1959); Clara M. (1894-1969); and Ethel May (1895-1919). Albert and Sara Jane divorced sometime between 1901-1903. Albert F. Bennett worked in the lumber industry doing wood sawing. He owned his own wood saw.
Albert F. Bennett married Zoah Maud Smith, September 8, 1905, in Clark County, Washington. They had one daughter, Zelda May (1909-).
Albert Freeman Bennett died August 31, 1929 in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington. Death was due to carcinoma. (bio by Darlene Stiteler Hightower)
