South Bend - Services for Marjorie Churchill Baumgartner, 82, of Terre Haute, Ind., formerly of Niles, who died about 5 a.m. Tuesday at her home, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 3 to 5:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Illinois College, Jacksonville, Ill. 62650.

Mrs. Baumgartner retired in 1973 as an elementary teacher after 20 years of service at Brandywine and Niles schools. She was born Dec, 9, 1907, in Grayslake, Ill., and lived in Niles for 30 years, coming from Rockford, Ill. On Feb. 14, 1929 (sic), in Waukegan, Ill., as Marjorie Churchill, she married William J. Baumgartner. He died July 10, 1977. She is surived by three daughters, Ann Puzzello of South Bend, Judith Love of Wentzville, Mo., and Dorothy Goodwin of Terre Haute, Ind.; two sons, John C. of Grayslake and Rolla W. of Columbus, Ga.; 17 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was a member of the League of Women Voters.
