Frank Lewis McGeary was born 14 Feb 1927 in Pennsylvania, son of Charles E. and Martha (Mills) McGeary. He is survived by loving wife Doris (Anderson), three children, Greg (Beverly), Kevin, & Erin (Thomas) Apollonio; Brothers Clyde (his wife, Barbara) and Raymond (his wife, Gay) and sister Martha (Gerald) Pifer. He was predeceased by brothers Glenn and K.Charles.
Frank was a graduate of Carnegie Tech. and worked as a Metallurgical Engineer, Alcoa Research. While employed by Construction Specialties, he co-patented the product "Pedigrid." He retired from El Paso LNG Company after working and living several years in N. Africa with wife Doris.
Frank was a dedicated to family, community and country. He served in the Navy during WWII and witnessed nuclear testing at Operation Crossroads. He served as President of Council in Cheswick, PA and various church and volunteer groups. Frank was a member of the People to People Corrosion Technology Delegation to China in 1986 and also elected as a Full Emeritus Member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society. Frank hobbies included travel, writing poetry, and humorous family news letters. He died 6 May 2010 from heart failure at his home in Melbourne, FL.
