****************************************
NOTE: Although there are several formal versions of her name, my Aunt preferred to be call "Jean" or "Jeannie".

Daughter of--
Orin Thomas Tarr (1887-1975)
and
Emma Sarah (Collins) Eslick/Tarr/Radar (1898-1980)

-----

Marriage--
In 1943, "Jean" was joined in marriage to her lifelong helpmate,
Walter Ellis Ownby (1915-1986)
They were not blessed with children in their marriage.

-----

"Jean" and Walter owned and operated Ownby Trucking Company based in Santa Barbara, California, for many years until Walter retired. They had one very large refrigerated truck that Walt took to the local manual car wash after each 'haul' and gave the inside and outside of the truck a thorough cleaning. (I helped him on occasion, and thought it was great fun. But then I did not have to do it on a regular basis.) "Jean" managed the Trucking Company office located in their Santa Barbara home, taking phone orders for service, billing, correspondence --well actually "Jean" was the "Office". In the early 1980s, they sold their Santa Barbara home, very large refrigeration truck, Trucking Company and moved to Farmersville, CA. They bought a home at 355 West Ponderosa Street, Farmersville, CA, in a quiet culdesac street, and lived there until Walter passed away.

-----
Health--
"Jean" was diagnosed with MS in the 1970s, when she began to lose motor control. She did not let the illness defeat her attitude and spirit. In the 1980s, she began using a wheel chair and a motorized scooter that she referred to as her "hot rod". She would get comfy in her "hot rod" and drive it to the local shopping center to do her shopping.

After the passing of her spouse Walter, she resided for many years in a senior center that hosted gatherings where she could socialize. Later she resided in a full assisted living residence until her passing.

"Jean" was buried and laid to rest next to her spouse in the Visalia Public Cemetery. There is no grave marker for her plot.
