Ralph Kreiser was born in New Salem, Allegan Co., Michigan to Mathias Kreiser and Martha VanDyke. His father a native of Rhineland, Germany and mother from the Netherlands. He was raised in St. Mary's Parish, New Salem marrying Mary Catherine Miller (Müller) in 1887 at St. Francis Church, Traverse City. Built a farm house on Miller Rd. in Hannah, Grand Traverse Co., about 3 miles West of St. Mary's Church, known as "Crystal Springs Farm"
Remarried to widow, Margaret Mort Kraemer in 1936 at St. Mary, Hannah.
After Ralph's death there was a dispute in court between his children and second wife over ownership of farm and property with son, Fritz eventually inheriting.
Ralph had two brothers who also settled in area. John also at Hannah and Nick at Kingsley.
