Peter Brick died at age 89 at St. Joseph's Home in St. Cloud. He was the oldest of 13 children born to the elder Peter and Katherine (Kaiser) Brick
Peter Brick was born in Wilmot Township, Waterloo, Canada West (Ontario) on 15 Dec 1845 and was baptized at St. Agatha Catholic Church on 25 Dec 1845. Godparents - Peter Brick, Sr. (his grandfather) and Elizabeth Kaiser (later Kueneman).
He attended St. Jerome's College in Berlin (now Kitchener), Ontario. He moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1869 and became principal of St Mary's school and taught music for a year. He then studied law at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating in 1871. He was admitted to the Bar in St. Cloud in 1872. He was the City Clerk, an Alderman, County Attorney 4 years, Judge of Probate Court 11 years.
Peter Brick and his cousin, Peter E. Kaiser (also from St. Agatha in Ontario) started a German language newspaper, 'Der Nordstern'. Peter Brick was the first editor but only stayed with the paper for the first few years and then sold his interest to his brother, Leo P. Brick.
He was married twice. His first marriage was to Johanna Melenowski. They were married in St. Cloud on 27 Nov 1871. She died in November 1889. After her death, he married Marie E. Fenner (nee Mueller) on 17 Dec 1891. He was survived by eight children, sons John, Leo, Carl, Rupert, Othmar P., and Bayard; and daughters Katherine and Elizabeth Armstrong. He was also survived by family members, Mrs. Lena Meyer, Mrs. Marion Smee, Mrs. Catherine Medved, and Simon Brick.
