First pilot to fly an aircraft at night.
On October 8, 1910, set the distance record by flying 104 miles between Springfield, IL, and St. Louis, MO.
Was the pilot for former President Teddy Roosevelt's first airplane ride, the first for any US president, on October 11, 1910, in Kinloch, Missouri.
The day before he died, he set the altitude record by climbing to 11,474 feet in California.
