BEECH CREEK---John P. DeHaas. 80, a long-time resident of Beech Creek, died Tuesday, April 9, 1935 at Danville. He was born at Romola and had resided in Beech Creek for 45 years. He conducted a livery stable in Beech Creek for 25 years until retiring in 1912. One son, Chauncy DeHaas of Westport was his only survivor. His wife and another son, James, preceded him in death.
His body was brought to the E.T. Bechdel and Son undertaking establishment at Blanchard. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at Romola with Reverend W. H. Long of Mill Hall officiating. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
