Word has been received here of the death of Samuel Gillispy, 58, a former resident of Wabash, which occurred at 1:45 PM Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill two weeks.
Mr. Gillilspy had been employed by the Wabash Railroad for 40 years and for the last 17 years was a telegraph operator in the Lafayette office of the railroad.
He was born Jan. 13, 1879 in Windfall. He was married in October 1936 in Wabash to Mrs. Dorothy Long and they moved to Lafayette in 1938.
Survivors include the widow; a son by a former marriage, Douglas Kent Gillispy, Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, James Gillispy, Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Grace Tolle, Mrs. Lottie Scott, and Miss Dollie Gillispy, all of Windfall.
He was a member of the Friends Church, near Windfall, and the National Order of Railroad Telegraphers.
