Mrs. Lucinda Jane (Jennie) Stouder, 78, died in the Huntington County Hospital Sunday evening at 7:10 PM. She had been in failing health for two years.
The decedent was born in Huntington County on Nov. 23, 1871, and spent most of her life in the county. She was the daughter of Isaac and Loretta Williams Beal and was married to E. C. (Ed) Stouder who died in 1935. After her marriage she lived in Huntington, on farms i Polk and Dallas Townships, in Andrews, and in later years in Huntington where Mr. Stouder died. Since the death of her husband she had made her home with her children. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church at Gosport where she resided with her son.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Mrs. S. A. (Nondus) Roach, Indianapolis, and Mrs. J. U. (Helen Marie) Heiney, Portland, Oregon; 4 sons: Paul Stouder, Berkley, Calif., the Rev. Wilbur Stouder, Polk Township, Dr. Charles Stouder, Gosport, and Dr. Dale Stouder, Warsaw; 1 brother: Charles Beal, Terre Haute; 2 sisters, Mrs. Susan Buzzard, Huntington, and Mrs. Lola Dillon, Warren; 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM in the Bailey Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale Beaty, Columbia City, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Andrews.
