A native of Wabash, Pat was the son of Samuel and Velma (Bowers) Finnegan. He has lived for 28 years in New Castle where he was an employee of Ramsey Auto Sales and also owned and operated Pat's Lawn and Garden Sales at his home. He was a veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and Fraternal Order of Police.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Kay; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Sharon) Bertram and Mrs. Steven (Karen) Burke, both of New Castle; one son, Michael D. Finnegan of New Castle; two stepsons, Stephen L. Ralston of Anderson and Ronald N. Ralston with the U.S. Navy; one sister, Mrs. Helen Gray of Wabash; two brothers, Raymond Finnegan of North Manchester and Samuel R. Finnegan, Jr. of Wabash; his father, Samuel R. Finnegan, Sr. of Wabash; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
