Frederick "Freddie" Albert Delore was the youngest child born to Antoine and Esther (McKay) Delore. He was born on a little farm in Vancouver, Washington on February 6, 1896. His father, Antoine, was 57 years old when his son Freddie was born and die just two years later. Mother packed up the family and moved them back to Woodburn, Oregon to be close to her family. In the 1910 Census we find Freddie living with Esther's sister, Stella Bernier and attending school at Oregon City.
Freddie enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on April 19, 1917 at the age of twenty-one. He is described as 6'3" with gray eyes, brown hair, and fair complexion at 198 #. Discharged on August 13, 1919 he would go back to work on the Trolley cars which by this time are being bought out and would one day be called Portland Traction Company, where all the trolley cars would be replaced by railroad tracks which would span all over Portland and beyond. Freddie would work as an operator most his life. He married Alice Johnson in 1921 at Vancouver, Washington. They set up house in Portland, Oregon until they separated in 1931. Freddie married again to Elsa May Spencer in 1940.
Freddie passed away in Portland, Oregon on September 9, 1940; he was just 53 years old. He left behind his wife Elsa May, daughter Shirley Jean Peterson of Seattle, Washington, son Charles of Oceanside, California, and son Frank of Portland, Oregon. His application for head stone states vets plot, Lincoln Memorial Park. The last name Delore was often found spelled Delor with Antoine's and his descendants.
