His parents, Robert and Margaret Johnson Beadle, along with his two older siblings John and Ann, immigrated to the United States in August 1833. They sailed from Liverpool aboard the ship Constitution and arrived in NY City. They were from Middleton-in-Teasdale, County Durham England where Robert was engaged in lead mining.
They moved to Weaversville for a brief period in 1841.
The moved again to Wiconisco Pennsylvania and according to the 1850 Federal Census, Robert was employed as "Manager". He was living there with his Wife and children John, Ann, Elizabeth, George, Robert J., and Sarah . The last name used on the census was "Bedle"
On the 1860 Census we find George living in what appears to be a rooming house in Pottsville. He is 22 years old, single, and is listed as being a Civil Engineer.
His military records indicate that he was a member of the Mosons Independent Calvary which was called to duty on July 2, 1863 for a period of 1 month and 19 Days. Being that it was the second day of fighting at Gettysburg they perhaps were called to duty to defend Harrisburg.
On the 1870 Census he was living in Tremont. He was married to Annie and had two children named Margaret and Arthur. His occupation was listed as Civil Engineer.
In 1880 he remained in Tremont with his wife Annie and 5 children and his occupation had changed to Justice of the Peace.
In 1900 he remained in Tremont, with his wife and children and continued as the Justice of the Peace.
In 1910 we find Annie living with two daughters and a son in Philadelphia. She is listed as the head of household.
A Philadelphia death certificate was issued 20 Jan, 1908 for George M. Beadle 70 years, 8 months, and 12 days. His parents were listed a Robert Beadle and Margaret Johnson both born in England. His occupation was listed as Watchman. He was buried 23 Jan, 1908 In Monument Cemetery in Philadelphia. He was moved in 1956 to this location.
