Mrs Walter (Viola) Bean of Afton was recently called to Illinois Following the untimely death of her father, Richard Seymour Hubbell, 64, of Hinsdale who died sept 27 from injuries sustained in a truck-car collision at Burkesville, Ky.
Mr Hubbell was born in Gladstone, Mich., and attended Chicago's Hyde Park High School and the University of Illinois.
He was a registered professional engineer, an inventor, circuit designer and executive for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. He was a member of the Hinsdale Village Players, actor, set designer and builder.
He was an inventor with more than 20 major aids to telephony to his credit. One of his inventions was credited with saving Illinois Bell about $5 million in plant expense.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a son , Richard Speer; a daughter, Mrs Walter E. Bean, Afton, Wyo., and four grandchildren.
