Richard Mason's first wife, Viola Livonia Mason, nee Jenney, filed for, and obtained a divorce from Richard on February 6th, 1886. The grounds given were spousal abuse.
I have copies of the original divorce transcripts, graciously provided to me by the folks at the Oakland County Court.
This information is provided for genealogical purposes, since the knowledge of their divorce was known, but the reason(s) for the divorce were apparently not known to generations outside the Mason children themselves.
Information is provided as a courtesy to descendants and other relatives of the Mason - Jenney family - this has truly been a labor of love for me - provided free of charge to all who are genuinely interested. I do not wish to ever see this information made available on ANY pay or "for-profit" site, and trust me, I WILL be checking from time to time.
I will be more than happy to answer any questions e-mailed to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
