Alden drove a beverage truck in Ionia before marrying Ilda Irene Blystone of Ionia. He was an honored member of the Christian Service Boys Brigade in which he was the Top Leader and Bugler sponsored by his local church. Growing up in the 'brigade' Alden camped around Ada and Lowell, MI on the lakes. Alden began working at Oldsmobile in the 1920's. He drove a Model T Ford a ‘Tin Lizzie' from Ionia to Lansing to work 2 hours a day and later relocated to Grand Ledge, MI with his wife Ilda. They took up residence in rental homes until they moved to Oakwood St, later Jennie St and Willow Rd in Grand Ledge, MI. Alden also belonged to the The Armory Originally constructed in 1924 for the 1st Battalion119th Field Artillery Unit Calvary, Chapter 1220 (The Ramey House) , Lansing, MI. He also worked at the Coal Mine in Grand Ledge, MI in the 1930's.
Like Ilda, he was a member of the I H A Mission, in Ionia, MI, supported The Free Methodist Campground in Manton, MI, attended the Free Methodist Church in Hastings, MI, the Riverside Nazarene Church, on West Jefferson in Grand Ledge, MI and the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Lansing, MI. Alden was an upright Christian man who dedicated his life to the Lord's service with his wife Ilda.
Alden and Ilda had 5 sons: Roger Alden Heald, Robert Harold Heald, Elmer Stuart Heald, Stanford Lyman Heald, and Miles Fremont Heald.
