Norman Ray Ferrell was born in Lebanon, Marion Co., Kentucky on July 24, 1940. He was the son of Wallace Dyre "Buck" Ferrell (1903-1981) and Oma Gibson Todd (1915-2007). Wallace was born in Boyle Co., KY, Oma in Madison Co., KY. They were married on Nov. 21, 1934.

Norman's father Wallace was the son of William Drye Ferrell (1857-1914) and Ida Belle May (1872-1962). William was born in Lincoln Co., KY, Ida in Forkland, Boyle Co., KY. They were married in Casey Co. on Mar. 8, 1888. Both died in Marion Co., KY and are buried in the May-Rogers Cemetery located in Casey Co., KY.

Norman's mother Oma was the daughter of Charles Bronson "Charlie" Todd (1874-1935) and Nancy Belle "Nannie" Cochran (1881-1982). Charlie was born in Madison County and died in Lebanon, Marion Co., KY. Nannie, who was also born in Madison County, died in Danville, Boyle Co., KY. Norman's maternal grandparents are buried side-by-side in the Richmond Cemetery in Madison Co., KY.

Norman, a graduate of Forkland High School in Boyle Co., KY and Fugazzi Business College in Lexington, KY, married Lenora Mae King (1940- ) about 1961. Lenora, the daughter of Herstle King (1915-1997) and Ollie Pearl "Polly" Hillard (1915-1992), was born and raised on Tennessee Ridge in Parksville, Boyle Co., KY. Norman and Lenora were married for over 50 years and had five children.

Lenora's father Herstle was the son of Thomas Letcher King(1881-1873) and Minna Susan "Minnie" Gooch (1873-1971), residents of the Tennessee Ridge area for over 55 years. Herstle, was born in Kingtown, McCreary Co., KY but his parents moved to Parksville in 1916 when he was just a year old. Herstle, a lifelong farmer, spent all but one of his 81 years on Tennessee Ridge.

Norman died on Sept. 8, 2013 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY at the age of 74. He was entombed in Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, Boyle Co., KY where his parents are buried.

Norman Ferrell was a devout Christian, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. For additional information on his life please read the attached obituary.
