LOWER SALEM - Ronald L. "Ronnie" Love, 66, of Lower Salem, Harrietsville community, died Tuesday morning (March 12, 2002) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Elk Township to James H. and Ollie Blanche Craven Love.
He graduated from Elk Local High School in 1953. He retired in August 2001, after 39 years of service, from B&N Coal. He was a former employee of General Motors in Columbus, Brickwede Brothers in Marietta, and the state highway department in Caldwell. He was a veteran, serving with the Ohio National Guard as a Specialist 5th Class in the 112th Medical Battalion for three years and one year with the Automatic Weapons Division.

He was a member of Stafford Church of Christ. He loved NASCAR racing and was a Dale Earnhardt fan. He had a deep appreciation of guns and enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; his father-in-law, Virgil H. Cunningham; one brother-in-law, Richard E. Cunningham; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James H. and Martha Cunningham.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Faye Cunningham Love, whom he married Nov. 11, 1956; three daughters, Debra S. Haney, Lisa A. Love, and Stacy L.; four sons, Michael C. Love, J. Douglas Love, Mitchell L. Love of S.C., and R. Landon Love; 10 grandchildren, Lee Andrew, Shanaka D., Dustin C., Alicia M., Leeanna M., Joshua J., Jennifer R., Kyle H., and Joseph C. and Gracye N.; one brother, Larry L. Love of Senecaville; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Cunningham; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Cunningham; four aunts, Margie Bishop and Mary Wenzel, Myrtle Hardesty and Vietta Williams; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell with the Rev. Kevin Rinkes and the Rev. Linda O'Donnell officiating. Burial is in Stewart Cemetery in Lower Salem. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
