MARY JANE VAWTER married JAMES TILFRED PIKE on November 12, 1841 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi. They were living at Pleasant Site, Alabama, when she died. She is buried in the Pleasant Site Cemetery, formerly known as the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Pleasant Site, Franklin County, Alabama. Her gravesite is one of the three large pyramided stone graves.

Parents: JOHN LEWIS VAWTER was born January 16, 1778 in Stokes County, North Carolina; died probably in the year 1863, in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; married RHODA McGUIRE about 1804 in Elbert County, Georgia. She was born November 16, 1785 in Henry County, Virginia; died August 28, 1824 in Maury County, Tennessee.

Paternal Grandparents: JOHN VAWTER (#59741568) and wife, FRANCES "FRANKY" WARD (#107430079).

Maternal Grandparents: ALLEGANY McGUIRE and wife, SARAH HOLIDAY. He was an American Revolutionary Soldier, while living in Virginia and drew a Pension for his service. He was an Orderly Sergeant and served under Captain Charles Scott at Williamsburg, Yorktown and Hampton. Other times under General Lincoln and General Gates.

Children of MARY JANE and JAMES TILFRED PIKE are:

(1) John Hawkins "Hawk" Pike born August 15, 1842 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died July 5, 1909 in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas. Married Mary Frances Greenhill on August 3, 1856 in Pleasant Site, Franklin County, Alabama. He served in Company H, 26 Mississippi Infantry, CSA and later enlisted in Davenport's Battalion, Mississippi State Cavalry Troop in Company B. Drew a pension. Hawk was a doctor. While living in Pleasant Site, he and Mary Frances lost a daughter, Olley. Olley is buried in Pleasant Site Cemetery. (Hawk's FAG Memorial #10361122).

(2) Alfred Byrd "Dink" Pike born May 6, 1844 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died June 16, 1929 in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Alfred never married. Alfred served in Company H, 26th Mississippi Regiment, CSA and later enlisted in Davenport's Battalion, Mississippi State Cavalry Troop, Company B.

(3) Juliann Frances Hunt born February 1, 1846 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died August 28, 1868 in Pleasant Site, Franklin County, Alabama. Juliann married David Hunt on January 13, 1868 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi.

(4) Rufus Pinkney Pike born Feburary 29, 1848 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died October 12, 1916 in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas. Rufus married Ella Octavia Malloy.

(5) David Nickson Pike born May 7, 1850 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died 1915 in Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas. David married Martha Jane Cavender in 1881 in Dimmitt County, Texas.

(6) Cephas Jasper 'Ceph' Pike born September 7, 1852 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died December 2, 1944 in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Ceph married, first, Martha Jane Holley on November 2, 1876 in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Martha was born December 5, 1857 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died May 19, 1885. Ceph married, second, Matilda Ann Sims on January 5, 1886 in Prentiss County, Mississippi. Matilda was born March 10, 1862 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died May 17, 1935 in Prentiss County, Mississippi.

(7) Mary Jane Pike born January 31, 1856 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died March 15, 1948 in Sasakwa, Seminole County, Oklahoma; buried on March 23 in Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma in Holdenville Cemetery. Mary Jane married William Steward George on June 1, 1874 in Pleasant Site, Franklin County, Alabama.

(8) James Tilford "Tif" Pike born November 14, 1859 in Tishomingo County, Mississippi; died March 18, 1925 in Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas; buried in Rio Frio Cemetery, Rio Frio, Real County, Texas. Tif married Sallye Bell Watkins on October 16, 1895 in Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas, by Elder J. C. Russell.

Note: Prentiss County was formed from Tishomingo County in 1870.
